I have to glue my ass to the chair for an hour or 750 words or five pages or whatever it is I’m supposed to be doing. This is about cultivating habits. It’s about having a quantity-over-quality writing life. It’s about staying in that damn chair until I’ve done my work for the day. It’s about how morning is better than evening (true for me, but for reasons other than bullet-point writing tips) and something is better than nothing. Etc. I can’t work like this…..
