WWCMFA@AWP 2023: SEATTLE  (March 8-11) CALL FOR BOOKFAIR VOLUNTEERS

Alumni and current students of the MFA Program for Writers at WWC planning to attend this year’s AWP Conference in Seattle are encouraged to volunteer for a shift (or two!) at the program’s booth in the conference Bookfair.  The Bookfair will be open daily Thursday, March 9 to Saturday, March 11 from 9:00 to 5:00. We seek volunteers for one- or two-hour shifts to answer prospective applicants’ questions and to talk about how this program and its community have informed and sustained your writing lives.

Interested alumni and students should contact our Bookfair staffing coordinator, Daniel Tam-Claiborne (fiction, ’21), [email protected]with details about your availability. Daniel will get back to you with time-slot specifics.  Our gratitude in advance for helping to encourage future Wallies our way. Our booth location has been updated, and we are now at Booth #627.

Thanks to the many alumni and current students who have already signed up!

And, for all faculty/students/alumni attending AWP:  PLEASE JOIN US AT THE WESTIN SEATTLE for our private Wally reception! This event has a new location: program faculty, graduates, and current students are now invited to join us in the Puget Sound Room (main floor) at The Westin Seattle, 1900 5th Avenue, from 8:00 to 11:30 pm on Friday, March 10. It’s just a few minutes’ walk from the convention center. There’ll be a cash bar; light refreshments will be provided by FOW and the Program. Hope to see you there!
