Volunteers Needed for the MFA Table @ AWP (and a PARTY!)

Alumni and current students of the MFA Program for Writers at WWC planning to attend this year’s AWP Conference in Kansas City are encouraged to volunteer for a shift (or two!) at the program’s booth in the conference Bookfair.  The Bookfair will be open daily Thursday, February 8 to Saturday, February 10 from 9:00 to 5:00. We seek volunteers for one- or two-hour shifts to answer prospective applicants’ questions and to talk about how this program and its community have informed and sustained your writing lives.

Interested alumni and students should contact our Bookfair staffing coordinator, Alyssa Beckitt ([email protected]), with details about your availability. Alyssa will get back to you with time-slot specifics.  Our gratitude in advance for helping to encourage future Wallies our way. Our booth location has been updated, and we are now at Booth #3225.

Thanks to the many alumni and current students who have already signed up!

And, for all faculty/students/alumni attending AWP:  PLEASE JOIN US AT THE PARLOR (1707 Locust St. Kansas City, MO 64108 — approximately a 15 minute walk from the convention center or a 3 minute Uber ride), for our private Wally reception from 9pm to Midnight on February 9. There’ll be a cash bar; light refreshments will be provided by FOW and the Program. Hope to see you there!
