Friends of Writers Winter 2024 Community Digest: New Books

Many in the Friends of Writers network saw their efforts realized in the latter half of 2024 with new book publications. Congratulations to those listed below. Megan Alyse (poetry ’22)

Megan Alyse’s poetry collection, Bone | Fish | Girl, was published by Game Over Books in September.

Beverley Bie Brahic (poetry ’06)

Beverley Bie Brahic’s poetry collection, Apple Thieves, was published by Carcanet Press in October.

Jane Brox (poetry ’86)

A volume collecting three of Jane Brox’s previous works of non-fiction, In the Merrimack Valley: A Farm Trilogy, published by Nonpareil Books in October.

Linda Nemec Foster (Goddard)

Linda Nemec Foster’s book, The Lake Huron Mermaid: A Tale in Poems, written with Anne-Marie Oomen and illustrated by Meredith Ridl, was published by Wayne State University Press in October.

Two of Foster’s previous collections, The Blue Divide and Talking Diamonds, have also been brought out in 2nd editions by Curbstone Books (U Wisc-Stevens Point).

Rebecca Foust (poetry ’10)

Rebecca Foust’s chapbook, YOU ARE LEAVING THE AMERICA SECTOR: LOVE POEMS , was published by Backbone Press in October.

Christian Gullette (poetry ’10)

Christian Gullette’s poetry collection, Coachella Elegy, was published by Trio House Press in July.

Kate Greathead (fiction ’11)

Kate Greathead’s novel, The Book of George, was published by Henry Holt and Co. in October.

Perry Janes (poetry ’19)

Perry Janes’s poetry collection, Find Me When You’re Ready, was published by Curbstone Books in September.

Jennifer Martelli (poetry ’95)

Jennifer Martelli’s poetry collection, Psychic Party Under the Bottle Tree, was published by Lily Poetry Review in December.

Sue Mell (fiction ’16)

Sue Mell’s short fiction collection, A New Day, was published by She Writes Press in September.

Matthew Zanoni Muller

Matthew Zanoni Müller (fiction ’10)

Matthew Zanoni Müller’s short fiction collection, First Aid for Choking Victims, was published by Malarkey Books in November.

Dale Neal (fiction ’89)

Dale Neal’s novel, King of Coweetsee, was published by Regal House in July.

Dzvinia Orlowsky (poetry ’91)

Dzvinia Orlowsky’s poetry collection, Those Absences Now Closest, was published by Carnegie Mellon University Press in October.

David Shields

David Shields’s new book, How We Got Here, was published by Sublation Media in September.

Megan Staffel

Megan Staffel’s novel, The Causative Factor, was published by Regal House in October.

Candace Walsh (fiction ’19)

Candace Walsh’s poetry collection, Iridescent Pigeons, was published by Yellow Arrow in July.
