November 2024
Shhh, even the moon sometimes betrays us.
We tried. We woke each day to a sliver of light
that widened & warmed us as the day
swelled & waned then ached the air ochre
& crimson. Sometimes the nights were dark,
sometimes bright with stars. We did our work.
We read the papers. We read our feeds.
We tried to be kind. We tried to be good.
